The Foundation conducts workshops for GPs and GP trainees with the aim of upskilling Australian doctors on skin cancer and inflammatory dermatoses. These are highly interactive courses designed and delivered by dermatologists.
We have now provided training for many hundreds of GPs from all parts of Australia, and will be expanding the courses provided, as well as delivering dedicated online training resources for GPs and nurses.
More than one in six patients initially present to GPs with a skin health issue. These workshops have proven to be very popular with these primary healthcare providers, and GP trainees, as they strive to further their knowledge to assist them with early diagnosis and treatment of these cases.
Our GP workshops are accredited by the RACGP and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) as part of their QI&CPD programs. They are generally sold out well in advance, with several GPs travelling from interstate to attend.
The Foundation will be expanding the education program for GPs, trainees and nurses.
Upcoming Workshops Testimonials
Our GP Alumni is a free online education and information resource for those GPs who have attended our GP Workshops. It aims to provide those GPs with access to a range of training resources to further upskill them in dermatology.
These resources include training videos, reading materials and patient information resources that are aimed at assisting GPs in their general practice.
We also provide a quarterly newsletter with advice on new materials added to this Alumni section, as well as advice on upcoming training sessions or webcasts that may be of interest.
